THE ASHES ARE STARTING!

So the Ashes started about 130 years ago. England, being the arrogant imperialists they were (perhaps still are to some extent) thought they would thrash their younger sibling at a good old game of English cricket...they lost, resulting in the obituary...

The English went over to Australia the following year and won a 3-match series, and were given this urn as a symbol that they had recovered the ashes of English cricket...

As you can see, it is very small, but it means a lot to millions of people, including myself. The Ashes happen once every 2 years on average...We go there every 4 years and they come here every 4 years.

the 1st macth (of 5) started today, and will last for 5 days most likely unless either team plays very poorly, in which case it could last only 3!
